Coming this Saturday to the Zami Co-Op at 807 Laurel are five fine bands. A night of dancing is upon us!
Davis’ Color of Love, Oakland’s Tempo No Tempo, Boston’s Pretty and Nice and Santa Cruz’s very own pop destroyers James Rabbit and Antarctica Takes It!
Tempo No Tempo have played Santa Cruz many atime, but they’re trimmed down now, more rhythmic, harder, and less forgiving. I’m excited to see them. The dancing continues with Pretty and Nice, who are relatively irresistible and all the way from Boston. Their debut album Get Young, on Hardly Art is a keeper. Request it on KZSC this week! James Rabbit and Antarctica Takes It! are two of Santa Cruz’s premier pop acts returning from tour. They’ve been mentioned in the blogosphere quite a bit recently – here and here on two of my favorite blogs. It’s great to see this sort of exposure for local bands, especially on such a literate, wonderful scene. Come out to the show, brought to you by This is Not a Record Label.
