Today was a historic day at KZSC: we named our first “Big Cheese” Best Programmer of the Month Award. To commemorate his achievements, he was given a fabulous “Jar o’ Cheese”. He’s very, very pleased.

Nathan Ellstrand is the seasoned soul-spinning DJ of Heaven on Earth, which airs every Sunday from 2-4pm. Nathan’s love for soul stems from his early exposure to the Oldies genre and continues because it’s the best thing to dance to on a Sunday morning. Heaven on Earth has become a stress-reliever for Nathan, who currently volunteers with Students Together Opposing Poverty (STOP), works as a writing tutor, and has held a chair at MSG (Merrill Student Government) for two years. Nathan’s even spun tracks over at UC Riverside’s KUCR for a summer, which he admits is a lot less cool than KZSC (we understand, Nate). He likes being busy, but loves being able to dance on his own to the best in soul music.
By the way, Nathan’s favorite cheese is Camembert, which I pronounce “Cannonball” because it adds some excitement (try it, please). It’s basically the best cheese in the world.

Nathan only has two more shows left at KZSC, so be sure to tune in Sunday at 2pm. His final show on June 14th will be a gift to his supporters as an all-request show. So pick up your phones, grab some Camembert, and dance your Sunday away.
Just a note, my last show is actually on Sunday, June 14th, so if you want to listen, that’s the day!
Fixed that – Have a good last show!
