Oh no! More new music! It looks like the folk-rock revival is getting the best of us here at KZSC, and I couldn’t be happier.

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros
1 MEGAFAUN – “Gather, Form, And Fly”
Because lazy afternoon folk-rock banjo goodness will always get the best of you.
2 TALBOT TAGORA – “Lessons In The Woods Or A City”
Remember how much we loved Abe Vigoda? Yep, this band goes there again. Noise-rock influenced fast almost chaotic glory.
3 EDWARD SHARPE AND THE MAGNETIC ZEROS – “Up From Below”
That whole “folk-rock revival” thing is going to start sounding annoying really quick, but the thing is that great things are happening in this realm. Edward Sharpe is a perfect example. There are so many hits on this album it’s ridiculous. Just play the first two songs and try not to get 100% sucked in. From the yellow-tinged photos on the cover right through the whole album, the influence of the 1960s has never been more welcome.
4 KLEERUP – “Kleerup”
Right, I know, you’re shocked because I’m condoning an RPM album. Anyways, Kleerup is what being electronic is all about. And by that I mean dancing is irresistible with this group. I couldn’t help it.
5 BRIAN GLAZE AND THE NIGHT SHIFT - “Green Living”
Oh man, the 1980s! Glamour! Dancing! Not being obnoxious and creating music that throws back this hard to that era is an incredible, incredible feet. Synth rock nu-wave that is so incredibly spot on and so well crafted I couldn’t not give it a nod.
