Weekly Loud Rock Charts

Let us get down to the nitty gritty, this weeks number add is one of my favorite CDs of the year, definitely top10 at least. What we’ve added this week is…

1    DARKEST HOUR The Eternal Return – Fun fact: Eternal Return refers to the idea that the universe is infinitely self repeating. This CD throws together all the things you love about Darkest Hour, one of their best to date.
2    CLUTCH Unstoppable Watts Sampler – These guys are doing some touring with Maylene and the sons of Disaster, another good band with a southern twist. You can check out the video for 50,000 unstoppable watts here.
3    BURY YOUR DEAD It’s Nothing Personal – Perhaps a little more melodic than their previous stuff, it’s still brutal metalcore.
4    SUFFOCATION Blood Oath – This band has always been hardcore and this CD does not disappoint, a good example of brutal death metal produced well.
5    BIGELF Cheat The Gallows – They will be touring with Dream Theater on the Progressive Nation Tour.

As I mentioned earlier, Dream Theater will coming through the US on their 2nd Progressive Nation Tour which should be epic. Job For a Cowboy is on tour now and I have heard only good things about it (they are out with The Black Dahlia Murder so I can’t see how it could be bad). Maylene and the Sons of Disaster are sticking in there with that distinct southern feel, if you like Clutch check these guys out. Delain is a band I had not heard of until recently and people should definitely give them a chance. They are Orchestral Goth-Metal with a female vocalist and their cd April Rain is a really interesting piece of work. Lots of distinct genres this week as is the case of Pirate-Metal band Alestorm, Black Sails at Midnight is still being rocked on my iTunes on a regular basis. Lastly we see Iwrestledabearonce holding on to the top ten.

Well, I’m a little in getting this done so I’ll leave it as is. See you next week!
