Dean Wareham on The Rising Tide tonight!

Galaxie 500 were one of the seminal groups in the canon of indie rock. Though the group disbanded in 1991, their songs will  be brought back to life tonight at Don Quixote’s as the leader of the group, Dean Wareham, will perform songs off of the group’s three recently re-released full length records (1988′s Today, 1989′s On Fire and 1990′s This Is Our Music) starting around 9pm.

But before Dean and co. take the stage, you should tune in to KZSC tonight at 8:30pm to hear Dean, also the front man for dream pop group Luna and one half of the group Dean and Britta with his partner Britta Phillips, talk to The Rising Tide about the tour, how it feels to be playing these old songs, and what it means to be a cult indie rock hero.
