Michelle Chappel

Hear Mokai live on KZSC during our folk show Backroads this Sunday 2/20/11 between noon and 2pm, for a sample of what to expect at the first songwriter night of the year in Corralitos later that day. “An Evening of Songs and Stories” starts at the family-friendly time of 6:00pm at the Corralitos Cultural Center (in front of the library), 127 Hames Rd., Watsonville, CA. Three performers will be featured, sharing stories and their original music: Michelle Chappel, former psychology professor at UCSC who ditched academia to pursue a singing career; Michael Gaither, the host of the Songwriters In-The-Round series, an always entertaining local songwriter; and Mokai, a singer accompanying himself with folk and blues style guitar fingerpicking.
