The Byron Berline Band will be playing traditional bluegrass and western swing at two gigs on the Central Coast of California, Monday, March 14, 2011 at 7:30pm at Don Quixote’s, 6275 Highway 9, Felton, (831) 603-2294 and Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7:30pm at Planet Gemini, 2110 North Fremont, Monterey (next to the Fairgrounds), (831) 373-1449. Band leader and Oklahoma native Byron is a three-time National Fiddle Champion who has played with the likes of Bill Monroe, The Rolling Stones, Emmy Lou Harris, and Bob Dylan in the past. Appearing in Byron’s band will be legendary banjo player John Hickman, Jim Fish on guitar, Greg Burgess, a multi-year winner of the Oklahoma State Fiddle Championship, drummer Steve Short, and bassist Richard Sharp.
