Two-time Grammy award winner (in Traditional Blues and Traditional Folk categories) the venerable Ramblin’ Jack Elliott will be appearing Sunday, March 13, 2011 at a 1:00pm matinee show at Don Quixote’s, 6275 Highway 9, Felton, CA (831) 603-2294. In the tradition of a roving troubadour, Jack has traveled the world with his guitar, telling stories in words and song for decades, and has recorded some forty albums. He met Woody Guthrie in 1950, and subsequently moved in with Woody’s family and traveled and performed with Woody across the U.S. While residing in Europe, he inspired young rockers ranging from Mick Jagger to Eric Clapton. On his return to the U.S., he met and influenced Bob Dylan, and also along the way learned blues first-hand from Leadbelly, Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, Big Bill Broonzy and others. At the age of 77, he continues to entertain folks of all ages.
