Abigail Washburn and Band will be in concert Monday, March 28, 2011 at 7:30pm at Don Quixote’s, 6275 Hwy 9, Felton, CA (831) 603-2294. From Illinois and currently based in Nashville, Abigail is a clawhammer style banjo player and singer-songwriter pushing the envelope of folk music to include a tasty indie pop edge. Her recent release “City of Refuge” tells stories of people from around the globe trying to find a place in the world. Having spent time in China and able to speak fluent Chinese, those elements also make their way into her music. Also on the bill will be Honeymoon, a group of four singer-songwriting women from the Monterey/Bay Area also playing an indie-folk blend of traditional roots music with a pop sensibility.
