Carlo Aonzo and Elena Buttiero
from Italy will be performing a classical mandolin concert at a home on the westside of Santa Cruz, CA on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 7:30pm. RSVP (831) 423-1395. Carlo is an international mandolin virtuoso who has played with such musical institutions as the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala in Milan, and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. He has won the “Vivaldi” first prize at the Vittorio Pitzianti National Mandolin Competition in Venice, and first prize at the Walnut Valley National Mandolin Contest in Winfield, Kansas. Elena will be accompanying Carlo on the keyboard, and has performed in many cities throughout Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, France, Serbia, USA and Canada. Last year they released a CD of historical classical repertoire for the mandolin with works by Beethoven, Munier, Calace, and Bruzzone.
