Bangers and Mash! UK producers Jack Beats came through the civic auditorium last Wednesday and I got the fabulous opportunity to interview them. Big thanks to Santiago at Vital SC for being so facilitating and of course to the artists themselves. Unfortunately the sound file is a bit muddied but I’ve transcribed it:
KZSC RPM: Hey guys how y’all doing tonight?
JB: Good, yeah, good.
KZSC RPM: Cool, you guys are on a west coast tour right now, you like it over here?
JB: Love it, yeah, always good here.
KZSC RPM: Very cool, I’m gonna start a rapid fire q/a session starting now. LA or Miami?
JB: LA, definitely LA.
KZSC RPM: On the 2nd and 4th downbeat, clap or snare?
JB: Ermm… Variable. Yeah variable, depends on the situation.
KZSC RPM: More influential, Detroit or Chicago?
JB: Variable as well, yeah.
KZSC RPM: Haha alright, fair enough. On your toast in the morning, Jam or nutella?
JB: Jam. Yeah Jam always jam.
KZSC RPM: Ok the UK question, Manchester United or Chelsea?
JB: Neither! haha yeah neither.
KZSC RPM: You support a football Club?
JB: Hibs, hahaha. yeah Hibs (laughing). [Hibernian FC] And Arsenal.
KZSC RPM: Alright. New hardware or new software?
JB: Variable hahahaha.
KZSC RPM: The answer of the evening! And lastly, I know you guys tour a lot and spend a bunch of time together, so I have to know, what’s the most bromantic thing you boys have done together?
JB: Ahaha too many. Candle-lit dinner every night hahaha. It’s just a world of bro-mance all the time. (more laughing).
