The Tannahill Weavers, Sun June 19th

One of Scotland’s most popular traditional bands, The Tannahill Weavers, will be performing on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 7:00pm at Don Quixote’s, 6275 Highway 9, Felton, CA (831) 603-2294. Two original members of the band, Roy Gullane (guitar, primary lead vocalist) and Phil Smillie (flute, whistles, bodhran, vocals), are joined now by John Martin (fiddle, cello, viola, vocals) and one of Scotland’s most exciting young pipers Colin Melville (highland bagpipes, Scottish small pipes, whistles). They’ve released some 17 recordings over 30 years, and continue to earn rave reviews for their musicianship and ability to entertain audiences with their humor, sense of fun, and ballads from the heart along with rollicking jigs and reels.
