Although her dad Willie once advised her “remember to watch everything I do and do the exact opposite” Paula Nelson started a singing career, drawing influences from his Highwaymen pals Cash and Waylon plus contemporaries such as Kris Kristofferson’s then-wife, Rita Coolidge, whose bluesy, supple vocal style provided an early template as she found her own voice. Paula has toured with both her dad’s band and her own, making a name for herself as a talented new voice in contemporary southern music. Paula Nelson arrives from Austin at Don Quixote’s in Felton on Monday, June 27th. Showtime is 7:30 pm.
