Paula Nelson June 27th

The upside of having parents in showbiz is they can give you a pretty good idea if you want to follow in the family footsteps or maybe consider taking up bee keeping instead. Although her dad Willie once advised her “remember to watch everything I do and do the exact opposite” Paula Nelson started a singing career, drawing influences from his Highwaymen pals Cash and Waylon plus contemporaries such as Kris Kristofferson’s then-wife, Rita Coolidge, whose bluesy, supple vocal style provided an early template as she found her own voice. Paula has toured with both her dad’s band and her own, making a name for herself as a talented new voice in contemporary southern music. Paula Nelson arrives from Austin at Don Quixote’s in Felton on Monday, June 27th. Showtime is 7:30 pm.
