The wait for UCSC Slug Sports to resume is almost over. The UCSC women’s soccer team will be hosting CSU Monterey Bay for their first game of the season on Thursday August 25th at 5 PM at the Lower East Field. Watch our Lady Slugs kick off the 2011-2012 season, led by junior Roxanne Beltran and senior Maritza Hernandez. One week later on Thursday September 1st at 3 PM, the UCSC men’s soccer team will host the University of Puget Sound for their first home game of the season at the Lower East Field. Cheer on seniors Benjamin Middlemiss and Cody Pillon as they try to lead the Slugs to victory. Last but not least, make sure to check out the UCSC women’s volleyball team on Saturday August 27th at 7 PM at the beautiful College 8 West Field House as they host Dominican University for a scrimmage. The ladies went an impressive 21-12 last season behind the junior phenom Kat Grow, who lead the team with an astounding 454 kills on the season.
