It’s been a while since we’ve let all of our fine KZSC listeners know about the spectacular live musical guests we have on our program each and every friday night, so we figured it was time to let you know about tomorrow night’s guest: Her Band of Gold.
Her Band of Gold is the solo project of Barbara Crumm, who has written and recorded music for most of the last two decades while traveling all across the country before finally setting up shop in Santa Cruz this past year. Though she has released her music primarily through small cassette tape-oriented record labels, Her Band of Gold has taken full advantage of modern technology to get her music, a reverential take on americana and psych folk stylings simultaneously recalling the likes of PJ Harvey and Emily Wells, out to the masses. She has also been getting her music out into the world the old fashioned way, by performing in front of live audiences such as the one that will be present at Moe’s Alley on August 7th when Her Band of Gold takes the stage.
Tune into KZSC on friday night starting at 7pm to catch Her Band of Gold performing live in the studio where we’ll ask her about her journeysthus far, and where 2011 will take her.
