Greetings KZSC listeners and followers! It’s time to introduce you all to our guest for tonight’s edition of The Rising Tide on KZSC Santa Cruz, a phenomenal singer-songwriter by the name of Ash Reiter.
Among the youngest of the recent crop of musicians hailing from San Francisco to exhibit a bouncy, indie pop sensibility, Ash Reiter’s work draws easy comparisons to fellow female artists such as Mirah, Thao Nguyen and (less regionally) Laura Gibson. However, Ash and her band (comprised of a group of bay area musicians who have contributed to numerous groups over the years) take less of a sunny approach to their aesthetic, instead relying on Reiter’s soothing voice to lull listeners in, as if the groups music wasn’t hooky enough.
Ash Reiter will be stopping by to talk about her newest EP, titled hola, perform a few songs in the studio, and tell us what 2012 has planned for Ash and co.
