The biggest event sponsored by the Northern California Bluegrass Society (aka The Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society) is the annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival in Bolado Park, Tres Pinos, CA (7 miles south of Hollister), this year held Fri, Aug 12 through Sun, Aug 14. Featuring some 50 local bands on three stages, this festival is well known for its family atmosphere, with lots of activities for kids, a friendly campground, encouragement for budding musicians of all ages, and non-stop jam sessions going on throughout this 3-day festival.
