Bill Staines, folk singer and prolific songwriter, will be performing at the Aromas Grange Hall, corner of Rose and Bardue Streets in Aromas, CA on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 7:00pm (831) 726-2322. Sometimes described as a “modern day Stephen Foster” his songs have an enduring quality and have been recorded by Nanci Griffith, The Highwaymen, Priscilla Herdman, and Jerry Jeff Walker among others. He’s also recorded a couple of children’s albums, and his concerts are family friendly, encouraging the audience to sing with him on his chorus songs. Bill mixes traditional tunes in with his own contemporary folk ballads, and also relates humorous tales of life on the road and his observations of everyday life. He is also a winner of the National Yodeling Championship and has appeared on “A Prairie Home Companion.”
