“Poetry for Protection” is a poetry slam event created by a Mar Vista Elementary 5th grader in hopes of raising money for the River Street Shelter. The “Poetry for Protection” event will be held at the Ugly Mug in Soquel on Saturday, November 5th from 2 to 4 pm. Donations from this event go directly towards the River Street Shelter. There are several spaces available for poets to perform at this event. If interested, you can call Sarah at 234-7109.
