New/Old Strangers

When it comes to music at a college radio station, the wave of new releases coming at us each week can give you a blurred, fast-forward kind of feeling.  But this idea of the ‘new’ is relative.  True, there are lots of debut albums from brand new bands coming in, but there is something else happening as well.  Old stuff that we’ve never seen (or heard) before, coming from labels that aren’t afraid to go off the beaten track to find the unusual.  Check out, Finders Keepers Records, B-Music or Bar-None Records and give your curiosity index a boost.

About the author

The Savage - 25 years on the West Coast, but he still has the East Coast attitude to carry him through, even if the caffeine fails him at times. The long-time host of Unfiltered Camels, David Anton Savage, is now well into an extensive revamp of the library here at KZSC and hopes to be done by June of 2013. Wish him luck, because the fruits of his labor could mean more sweet music to your ears. Stay tuned.
