Top 5 Hip Hop Albums of 2011

These are my favorite albums of 2011. When I say favorite, I either mean it’s too good to put away or it’s made an impact on my life. I’m sure I’ve overlooked some, but personally, I can’t get enough of these. Take a gander, take a chance.

1. Action Bronson- Dr. Lecter
Food, women, drugs, jazzy beats. I literally don’t skip a single song on this album.
See: Moonstruck, Shiraz, Barry Horrowitz, Brunch

2. Tyler The Creator- GOBLIN
I dont care what anybody says, I love Tyler. Sure he’s negative and harsh, but who doesn’t get a little off their chest singing along? I know I do. Get that anger out. No shame.
See: Sandwitches, Yonkers, Burgers, Nightmare

3. Prof- King Gampo
Sloppy and strange at first, this MC will sneak up on your musical taste buds. He’s energetic, quirky and doesn’t take himself too seriously.
See: Yeah Buddy, The Season, Daughter, Peep Show, Myself

4. A$AP Rocky- LiveLoveA$AP
Mellow, dreamy, wishy-washy beats take you away to a place that’s between smoke and water. Get off that Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa train, this is where it’s at.
See: Purple Swag, Houston Old Head, Peso, Wassup, Get Lit

Okay, right here is where I’m a little torn…
I want to say Undun by The Roots, but I know I’ve listened to something else way more…

5. Jay-Z & Kanye West- Watch The Throne
I know, you expected this one. The album was a bit more clubby than I originally anticipated, but it still goes HAM. These two are honestly unstoppable and know how to get somebody dancing.
See: Gotta Have It, Who Gon’ Stop Me, Murder To Excellence, Ni**as In Paris
