UCSC’s 28th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Convocation

World-renowned poet, writer and activist Nikki Giovanni will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Convocation. Still committed  to the struggle for civil rights and equality today, her talk will cover “The Privilege of Serving: Art and the Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr”.  The event takes place Thursday, February 2nd at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium. It’s free and open to the public with doors opening at 6:30 pm. If you can’t make it there in person you can hear exclusive live coverage of UCSC’s 28th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Convocation on KZSC beginning at 7 pm.
