Bins & Purges

Sad But True Fact: we can’t keep every bit of music we’ve ever received here at KZSC; the four walls just can’t hold it all. New stuff spends 60 days in the air studio but after that we’ve got to make hard decisions whether or not it goes into our music library archives or gets purged. Even music that may have seemed “essential” a year ago might to get yanked to make room for the new. You can’t say that this process has any kind of rules; one DJ’s honey is another DJ’s hemlock. This is why our music directors & librarian take a second look at the purges before anything goes away forever. Stay tuned to KZSC to hear what we kept; to find out what didn’t make the cut, visit us at our fall Ultimate Music Sale event next November 17th.

About the author

The Savage - 25 years on the West Coast, but he still has the East Coast attitude to carry him through, even if the caffeine fails him at times. The long-time host of Unfiltered Camels, David Anton Savage, is now well into an extensive revamp of the library here at KZSC and hopes to be done by June of 2013. Wish him luck, because the fruits of his labor could mean more sweet music to your ears. Stay tuned.
