Jack is Back

It’s been just over a year since we shed some red and black tears with the news of the official retirement of The White Stripes. Since then the world has been waiting anxiously to see what the musical genius Jack White will bring next. The wait is over – White has announced on his fancy new website that he will be releasing his first solo LP on April 24th on his own Third Man Records label. Titled Blunderbuss, I think it’s safe to say (after listening to the first single, “Love Interruption”) it’s going to be amazing. White states that Blunderbuss is, “an album I couldn’t have released until now. I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

I’m counting down the days until I can listen to the LP on repeat. If you need to satisfy your Jack White fix sooner, White is releasing a 7” with songs “Love Interruption” and “Machine Gun Silhouette” which can be purchased through the Third Man Records website. I know I’ve already got my hands on it, how about you?
