Hapa March 7th

Hapa comes back to Santa Cruz for their annual spring show. This is a chance to see and hear Hapa founder Barry Flanagan with his distinctive chiming guitar sounds and newest band member Ron Kuala’au. A Honolulu native, Ron Kuala’au was one of Barry’s first teachers of Hawaiian music and an inspiration for the Hapa sound beginning back in the 1980s.  Now a resident of Maui, Ron Kaula’au brings his vocals and original Hawaiian compositions to the magical musical mix that is Hapa. Join Hapa as they celebrate a 30 year friendship based on their love for Hawaiian music  at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in downtown Santa Cruz on Wednesday, March 7th. Showtime is 7 pm.
