Mastodon - The Hunter
Mastodon’s new album, The Hunter, is full of the crazy awesome riffs and breakdowns that the Georgia quartet has become incredibly famous for. This album is just as, if not more so, “spacey” as their last album. Think of a more focused and less drawn out version of Crack the Skye.
Lamb of God - Resolution
With their seventh studio album, Lamb of God shows once again that they are one of the last few bands that can do groove metal right. Once you give it a listen to, it’s no wonder that this has been the biggest metal album so far this year. It’s also received universal praise from practically every review site. If you just want to listen to some straight up awesome riffage and feel the nostalgia from how metal used to be back in the good ol’ days, then go out and get this RIGHT NOW.
Megadeth - Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying? (25th Anniversary Edition)
While Megadeth’s Rust in Peace is my (and many other’s) personal favorite, it makes sense to reissue this album because of the sheer nostalgic value it has. It was the band’s first truly great album, and it will always hold a sentimental place in their longtime fans’ hearts. This special edition of the CD includes a remastered version of the original album along with a second “Live at the Phantasy Theatre” disc that diehard fans are sure to clamor for.
Nephelium - Coils of Entropy
This is by far the finest (first?) metal band out of Dubai since…well, ever. Nephelium’s debut album, Coils of Entropy hits you and hits you HARD. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more angry yet focused at the same time, this is for you. Don’t let the fact that you’ve never heard of this band force you to not get this. I don’t care where you get it (from KZSC perhaps?) just go and listen to this now. Dammit.
