Resource Center for Nonviolence Open Mic – Friday, March 9!

Are you ready for people-powered poetry on a  pedal-powered sound system?  The Resource Center for Nonviolence (RCNV), located at 612 Ocean St. in Santa Cruz, is hosting an open mic and art show this Friday, March 9 at 7 PM.   This open mic series is part of a larger effort by the RCNV’s Project ReGeneration to encourage the arts as a vehicle of nonviolent social activism!  Project ReGeneration is committed to building a community space for students and Santa Cruz youth where  nonviolent social activism can be expgored through the vehicles of the arts and music.

So pick up your pen, or pick up the mic, and come power some poetry that’s powered by a bike!

During the open mic, be sure to check out the featured ”New World Border” art show, a collaborative show about the US/Mexico Border.  A reception will be held before the open mic at 5 PM.
