Visiting from County Sligo on the westside of Ireland, the band Dervish will be returning to the Kuumbwa in downtown Santa Cruz, CA on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 7:30pm. Playing traditional Irish music for over 21 years, they are celebrating a CD/DVD release of live performances. Outstanding vocalist in the group Cathy Jordan has a hot off the press solo album of traditional and contemporary ballads as well. They are one of the most revered high energy live acts, playing virtuosic instrumentals on fiddle, flute, button accordion, bouzouki, mandola, mandolin and bodhran, and singing ballads drawn from both serious and humorous sources.
