One of the challenges of being a fan of world music is how to find out what’s new and interesting. Here are some good places to start.
Songlines Magazine is an imported magazine from the UK that covers world music. Every issue you get a free CD (or two) that features the latest from around the world, from traditional to world fusion. It’s also available digitally and the website has a lot of free information. Find it at http://www.songlines.co.uk/
BBC Radio 3 is the BBC’s primary World Music service. They stream exclusive content from their guests and also broadcast live from world music festivals such as Womad. Check out the latest at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/world-music/
And finally, for those of you who love things African, Afropop Worldwide is an internationally syndicated weekly radio series and an online hub for African and world music. Their website is: http://www.afropop.org/
