Our music collection @ 45

Age isn’t everything, and when it comes to the music library here at KZSC it’s a strange sort of immortal creature.  Yes, we still have LPs in the stacks marked with KRUZ in huge letters across their covers from the station’s first years of life here on the UCSC campus.  But, on the other hand, we are always getting a kind of stem cell therapy from all the new music coming in by the bin load on a weekly basis!  Yes, some of it could give us blood poisoning, but the rest of it keeps our bones strong and healthy.  We are heading into middle-age staying flexible and looking good.  We can’t wait to turn 50!

About the author

The Savage - 25 years on the West Coast, but he still has the East Coast attitude to carry him through, even if the caffeine fails him at times. The long-time host of Unfiltered Camels, David Anton Savage, is now well into an extensive revamp of the library here at KZSC and hopes to be done by June of 2013. Wish him luck, because the fruits of his labor could mean more sweet music to your ears. Stay tuned.
