It’s called “Spring Break” at many institutions and in the last few weeks KZSC has hosted the curious from New York, the Midwest and most recently, Kawasaki Japan. Students from what we would consider 9th grade came to UCSC and wanted to see what it’s like inside “a radio station in the woods”. We couldn’t scare up a mountain lion for them but The Great 88 opened our doors for a full tour with programmers Dan Davis (on his knees) and Carol Riewe (in blue, flashing some type of gang sign). Lots of photo opportunities later, everyone left with pink KZSC stickers that will no doubt grace bumpers throughout the city of Kawasaki. KZSC’s new friends invited us to attend the Kawasaki Keiba (horse racing derby) or the Kawasaki Keirin (bicycle races); stay tuned to see if our Sports Department makes the trip.
