Summer Means Vinyl…

As I begin a 2nd year as music librarian at KZSC, my attention turns to the ten thousand or so LPs we have in our collection. Some of them are glorious; some have seen better days. Summer  is by far the longest and least hectic time at our Little Log Cabin In The Woods; the perfect time to take stock and do some maintenance. Fading gems and seriously scratched or otherwise damaged albums will have to be retired. Covers will be repaired and missing inner paper sleeves will be replaced to prevent further damage.  As usual, KZSC listeners reap the benefits since this process always uncovers lots of music that hasn’t had any airplay in years. Summer’s the perfect time to dust them off and blast the grooves over the airwaves. Stay tuned!

The Savage - 25 years on the West Coast, but he still has the East Coast attitude to carry him through, even if the caffeine fails him at times. The long-time host of Unfiltered Camels, David Anton Savage, is now well into an extensive revamp of the library here at KZSC and hopes to be done by June of 2013. Wish him luck, because the fruits of his labor could mean more sweet music to your ears. Stay tuned.
