In 1985 Paul Simon traveled to South Africa in search of sounds that had captivated him. The journey resulted in a cultural exchange that sparked the Grammy award-winning album “Graceland” and opened the door to collaborative world music projects for thousands of musicians. This month a new expanded version of “Graceland” has been released along with a film documentary and a nationwide tour with the original participants. Hear Paul Simon and others tell the story of how “Graceland” came to be on the first morning of our new summer program schedule, Monday June 18th starting at 6 AM on KZSC.
