A few weeks ago, a friend of mine came to visit up in Santa Cruz, and he came bearing gifts. He brought with him a CD of a band he saw open for some other bands as opening bands so often do. This CD, he told me, can only be purchased in Italy. It is called “Archaeology of the Future” by the band Vadoinmessico.
I am not a music critic but I would describe their sound as a reserved, sober man’s Animal Collective if they had a child with Beirut but secretly, it was Grizzly Bear’s child (Disclaimer: I don’t listen to this type of music that often so I am sure there is a better way to describe them but this is the best I can do cut me some slack). They have a solid, fun, relaxing sound and grove hard but I feel their songs can suffer from repetitiveness. This is the perfect band to start off the summer. Come to think of it, If I could describe this band in one word, “Summer” would be it. Listen, and you will know what I mean.
This is my favorite song off of the album. It is titled “Fleur Le Tue”

other songs of theirs I would check out are, “Pepita, Queen of the Animals” and, ” In Spain”
Happy listening
