Once nicknamed “Uncle Meat” while performing with the Mothers Of Invention, Essra Mohawk went on to release 12 solo albums starting in 1966. A prolific songwriter, Essra’s songs have been recorded by numerous artists including Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner.
