Beyond Wonderland Giveaway

It’s not every day that international DJs come through the Bay Area. Reason enough for KZSC’s RPM & Promo departments to get excited about “Beyond Wonderland” next weekend. The weekend festival September 28th & 29th will highlight the best from progressive house, trance, dubstep, trap, and any other imaginable genre on the electronic spectrum including up and coming British DJs Jamie Jones and world stylist  Oliver Twizt.  How these musicians’ work translates in an outdoor Amphitheater will be very interesting.  KZSC is going to share this experience by offering ticket giveaways during Booty Bouncing Bass (Sun. Sept.  22 10:30pm-12:30am) and on The Endless Loop (Mon. Sept. 23 10:30pm-12:30am).  Be sure to tune in to 88.1FM KZSC for your chance to win a pair of weekend passes.  You can also enter RIGHT NOW by liking KZSC on Facebook and by sharing the image of the Beyond Wonderland Lineup.  One winner will be picked at random on Tuesday at noon.  Please keep in mind that Beyond Wonderland Bay Area is an 18+ event.

Grateful Dead Performing at Greek Theater

Furthur Sept. 27th

Over their long strange strip the Grateful Dead frequented Berkeley’s Greek Theatre. Even past the band’s tenure original members have made their way back to the charming ampitheatre often. Phil Lesh and Bob Weir continue this tradition on September 27-29 when they will return to the Greek with their most recent Dead related project Furthur. In addition toe Lesh and Weir Furthur features top rate musicians with Jeff Chimenti on keyboards, Joe Russo on drums, and Jerry sound alike John Kadlecik playing guitar. Be sure to check out one two or all of these and I’ll see ya in the lot!

Weekends & KZSC

KZSC is the Big Dipper of Broadcasting in Santa Cruz. Where else on a weekend can you wake up to trash, twang and rhythm mayhem (“Moon Twist” with Mr. Earl  Saturday mornings at6 AM), find women in jazz (“Jazz Kitty” noon Saturdays), chill to reggae (“Strictly Rockers” Saturday nights at 6:30) or have an opportunity to connect with mind, body and spirit (“Conciliation Sunday” at 6 AM) with a Jewish chaser (“Muzical Jewz” Sundays at 4 pm)? That’s right…nowhere. And there’s so much more:  folk, blues, indie rock, hip hop and the Pacifica/KPFA News from Berkeley weekends at 6 pm. It’s just the way we roll on the weekends at The Great 88.

Find out for yourself-check out our Program Schedule and get ready for Monday.
