TheOcean-Pelagial

Loud Rock Charts: 4/23

This week has been unexpectedly awesome in terms of our metal adds for the week. We’ve got The Ocean’s highly anticipated record, which comes in two versions, one with vocals and one without. If for some reason growly vocals don’t do it for you, I highly suggest checking out the instrumental version of the album. It’s arguably one of the best releases this year has seen so far.

Other great adds include Shining’s follow up to Blackjazz, a weird avant-garde mind-fuckery of sorts, and Arsis’ Unwelcome, which is most certainly welcome (har har).

Loud Rock Charts: 4/9

Coming right out of left field this week is a new album by Volbeat, who found mainstream success with their last album, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven. This time around, however, they’re coming back with some of the heaviest stuff they’ve ever put forth.

Also coming your way is no-nonsense hard rock band Owl with The Right Thing, and intense death metal outfit Pyrithion’s (no, not the chemical) The Burden of Sorrow.

This just in: all members from Kvelertak found rendered unconscious in a freak belly dancing accident.

Also, April Fools.

However, you know what isn’t a really bad joke? This week’s charts!

Happy Spring Break! I hope everyone has been having a very metal vacation because I sure have. I’ve been booty bumpin Thy Art is Murder’s newest album, Hate, and Byzantine’s self titled comeback record.

By the way, if you are a fellow concert goer, you should check out Summer Slaughter’s lineup here. Being a prog head, I’m incredibly excited for this show. It’s got some of the most forward thinking bands currently out there writing awesome music. You can also vote for the opening band (here), one of whom on that potential list is our #1 add for this week. Personally, I voted for Intervals, but to be honest there’s no way you could go wrong here.

One of the better weeks in terms of Loud Rock Adds, this time we see Clutch drop what could be their greatest album to date, Finnish monster costumers Lordi release a “beastly” (teehee) record, and the highly anticipated Kvelertak album.

Also, I still have no idea how to pronounce that band name.  Kelvin Tack? Kevlar attack?
