Loud Rock Charts: 3/12

Unfortunately, last week there as a mix up with KZSC’s CMJ subscription, hence the lack of charts and adds. With this week, however, KZSC is back in business, and boy what a week. This time around sees hard rock band Krokus release their 17th studio album. Yeah, you read that right. 17. As in the number after 16.

Also dropping is stoner metal outfit Orange Goblin’s first ever live release, which promises to appease fans for a short time until they come to your local town on their tour with Clutch.

Within The Ruins

Loud Rock Charts: 2/26

Thursday night, I witnessed one of the greatest acts on metal this world has seen. No, it wasn’t any big name bands like  Opeth or Gojira. It was just a small three piece band, who use nothing more than 2 lights, a little bit of fog, and three instruments to create one of the most unbelievable live performances on this earth. That band’s name is Russian Circles. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you get a chance to see them on their tour with Between the Buried and Me and Coheed and Cambria, please for the love of god get there early to witness their greatness.

Loud Rock Charts: 12/19

I sincerely hope everyone has had a great three day weekend! In celebration of our forefathers, why not take a listen to some awesome new metal? In particular, Suffocation’s Pinnacle of Bedlam has been making waves in the metal community, for great reason. Also adding today, Psychothermia’s newest album is just as awesome and “kooky” as its name implies. It’s also self-released, so why not help out an up-and-coming independent band?

Loud Rock Charts: 2/12

In this week’s version of great awesome new metal, we see hardcore band Shai Hulud release what could amount to be one of the finest albums in the genre since Converge’s Jane Doe (yep, you heard me right).

Also dropping is the ever increasingly popular band Bullet for my Valentine with Temper Temper, who are hoping to set themselves apart from the quickly over-saturated genre.

6PAN1T

Loud Rock Charts: 2/5

In this latest addition of new Loud Rock stuff ‘n’ things, the whole world is subject to the awesome instrumentation of Pomegranate Tiger, an instrumental outfit not unlike that of Scale the Summit or Animals as Leaders. However, they’re original enough to garner some well deserved critical acclaim. And for those of you wondering, they just so happen to be named after Salvador Dali, my personal favorite artist. Bonus points for them.

Also adding are The Beards, who are as amazing (and manly, if I might add) as their band name suggests.

vertikal

Loud Rock Charts: 1/29

The week of January 29th brings upon us a very heavy slew of metal. Arguably the best record to drop so far, Vertikal sees Cult of Luna further themselves as the leaders in the post metal genre. I thought it was pretty darn tootin’ too.

Also brutalize our eardrums is Maelstrom’s newest record It Was Predestined and Ancient VVisdom’s (yep, that’s two V’s) Deathlike, who are actually playing at Slim’s in San Francisco on February 9th. If you like good music, which I’m sure you do since you’re reading this, why not check them out? I promise your ears will only bleed a little bit.
