This video is in no way new, but worth noting for those of you interested in Autotune and all it’s dirt and glory. The great experimental indie collage group Lucky Dragons built themselves two radios with autotune in them (I don’t totally know how this works, so don’t push it). What that means is that every station they turn to is filtered through the warble of Autotune and that between the two radios, every sound is in-tune with eachother. The video is appropriately called “Peace on Earth”. Enjoy!
Tetherhorse recently came through the KZSC studios to perform live for The Rising Tide. The band will be playing at Streetlight Records for Record Store Day on Saturday, so here’s a little preview to get you warmed up! This is Tetherhorse, here are our very own little cabin in the woods:
One of the newest icy spring-time treats that we have at KZSC is the first release from the guitarist and vocalist of (probably one of your favorites): Sigur Ros. His name is ___, but um, you can call him Jonsi (pronounced yawwwnnnnn-zeeeee). What started as a solo-acoustic project turned into an exploding cool album very similar to old Sigur Ros releases, in the best possible way. Also, Jonsi’s fashion style is pretty effing ridiculous in a really good way. Like, Metallic Falcons ridiculous (see above). If you’re intrigued by his raucous good looks or silky smooth feathers, you should check out the video below for “Go Do“.
The time has come! This Saturday KZSC announced the arrival of it’s Spring pledge drive. This is the time when you can show us how much we mean to you. Your donation means that we can continue to broadcast over the air and through your computer year-round, without commercials, and and without sacrificing our completely original programing.
To show you how much your support means to us, we have bucketloads of goodies to give back to you. Tune in to any of your usual favorite shows to see what they’ve got for you.
For those of you into indie rock, we have SIX of the new Beach House records to give away, “Teen Dream”. The CD comes paired with a DVD that features a video for each of the songs on the album. And, by the way, this album is killer. Read our review here and check out the video to their song “Silver Soul” below.
Shows that may be offering this yummy gift include Flavor of the Week, Dream Scream, and Pop Molecule, all of which are airing tomorrow. On Tuesday check out Get Your Kicks and Pocket Full of Seahorses on Thursday. We also have goodies from the Magnetic Fields, The Album Leaf, Zeus, No Age, and The Apples in Stereo to give away.
This is one of those records that is sure to get a huge amount of love at our station: Golden Triangle‘s “Double Jointer” album. Check out the video below to get why. It’s a mix of sweaty sweaty garagey post-punk with lots of pretty girls. Really, it’s a very special KZSC recipe for success.
Two days ago Fang Island landed at our station. And they’re wonderful. Below is the video for their song “Daisy” (my favorite song on their debut album). It depicts some crazy people dancing with facemakeup on to Fang Island‘s quite literally crazy music. Enjoy! And remember kids, you can tune into any indie rock shows for a chance to hear their other stuff at our station!
