Essra Mohawk Interview Friday

The Test of Time program is pleased to announce an upcoming interview with Essra Mohawk.   Once nicknamed “Uncle Meat” while performing with the Mothers Of Invention, Essra Mohawk went on to release 12 solo albums starting in 1966.  A prolific songwriter, Essra’s songs have been recorded by numerous artists including Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner.  Tune in Friday, Feb. 1 at 12:45 to listen to Essra’s intelligent soulful music and learn more about this Secret Diva, exclusively on KZSC.

    Thanks so much to Carol Riewe and KZSC for a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed interview Feb. 1s). Although my first record (a single) was released on Liberty in 1964, my first album (an LP) didn’t come out until 1969 on Verve. I recorded it in ’68 while signed to Frank Zappa.
