With so much access to the advancements in technology, it is not a surprise that dance music has blossomed and new artists are popping up all over the world. If there is one to keep tabs on, however, it is the Colorado native Maddy O’Neal. A self-taught producer and mixer, her music showcases her unique talent with an eclectic genre of future funk, bass, hip-hop all mixed with dance, and a mix of some features from unique vocalists and rappers. She has toured all over the U.S. on her recent gig with Cherub on their Free Form Tour, and is currently planning to do a statewide Colorado tour with the well-known Floozies. Her name has also popped up on massive festival lineups like Suwanee Hulaween, Moonrise, and Sonic Bloom.

What makes Maddy separate from other artists in the scene, however, is her ear to create new sounds constantly flowing through her work she puts out online, and even in her live performances. Her high energy is well-heard through her music with a wide range of tracks to listen to in any environment – in the club, in the car….anywhere. Her humble personality when interacting with fans makes her all the more a well-renowned artist of her style. Her new Ep, Dream State, captures her well-formed sound with unique features, a smooth flow of funky sounds, and high quality production.

I had the opportunity to pick Maddy’s brain when she stopped at our beloved Catalyst club, the last stop for the Free Form Tour. The full interview is at this link:

Maddy’s new EP, Dream State, is available on all streaming platforms. For more info about tour dates and music, you can find it on maddyonealmusic.com.
