De Temps Antan, Sun Aug 21st

De Temps Antan, an engagingly joyful and energetic trio playing traditional style French-Canadian (Quebecois) folk music, will be in concert at Don Quixote’s International Music Hall in Felton, CA on Sunday evening, August 21, 2016. Together since 2003, all the members contribute to the intricate arrangements of vocal harmonies and instrumentals, and are also composers of original songs and tunes. Current band members include Eric Beaudry (guitar, mandolin, bouzouki), Andre Brunet (fiddle, winner of “Canadian Grand Master” title, and foot percussionist), and Pierre-Luc Dupuis (button accordion, harmonica) who have toured the world to great acclaim. Their concert is sponsored by the Celtic Society of the Monterey Bay. Tune in for more traditional and contemporary folk music every Sunday afternoon on KZSC during “Backroads.”

Le Bruit Court dans la Ville, Mon Mar 14th

The band Le Bruit Court dans la Ville (The Buzz of the Town) includes true legendary performers of the traditional music of Quebec, Canada who will be appearing on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 7:30pm at Don Quixote’s in Felton, CA. Lisa Ornstein (fiddle) and André Marchand (guitar) were former members of the influential Quebecois band La Bottine Souriante, and have teamed with Normand Miron (accordion, harmonica) in this trio. They play fiery and beautiful fiddle tune melodies both original and traditional, paired with vocals which often have folk tales intertwined. All three can add foot percussion to keep things rolling. Presented by the Celtic Society of the Monterey Bay.

Celebrate Bastille Day with the French-speaking band De Temps Antan, who will be bringing vibrant traditional music from Quebec to Don Quixote’s International Music Hall in Felton on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 7:30pm. This trio features former members of the seminal French-Canadian band La Bottine Souriante, including the charismatic André Brunet on fiddle, composer of many delightful tunes, and a previous winner of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Championship, along with Eric Beaudry on guitar, mandolin, and bouzouki, and Pierre-Luc Dupuis on button accordion and harmonica. Everyone in the band sings, and their sense of fun in performance is quite contagious. Presented by the Celtic Society of the Monterey Bay.

Celtic Fiddle Festival Sun April 13th

Masters of traditional Celtic fiddling converge for a performance at Don Quixote’s in Felton, CA  on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 7:00pm. The Celtic Fiddle Festival band features Irish fiddler Kevin Burke (Bothy Band, Patrick Street), Breton fiddler Christian Lemaitre (Kornog) and Quebecois fiddler André Brunet (De Temps Antan, La Bottine Souriante) backed by acclaimed Breton guitarist Nicholas Quemener. They’re celebrating the release of their 6th album, “Live in Brittany.” Presented by the Celtic Society of the Monterey Bay.
